- Rules for Don's Conures Bulletin Board
1. Respect and Kindness First
Treat all members with respect and kindness. Harassment, discrimination, or hateful behavior is not tolerated.
Disagreements are allowed, but remain polite and constructive during discussions.
2. Stay On Topic
Posts should focus on conures or related topics such as their care, health, behavior, breeding, and training.
Non-conure-related content is allowed only in designated areas (e.g., an "Off-Topic" section, if applicable).
3. Accurate and Ethical Advice
Provide accurate and ethical advice about conure care and breeding. Misinformation can harm birds.
If unsure of your advice, clarify that you’re sharing personal experience or suggest consulting a veterinarian or avian specialist.
4. No Sale of Birds or Unauthorized Advertising
Selling or trading conures or other animals is prohibited unless permitted in a specific "Adoptions and Rescues" section.
Unapproved advertisements, promotions, or spam are not allowed. Contact moderators for approval before sharing business-related content.
5. Proper Attribution
Credit all sources when sharing information, photos, or other media that isn’t your own.
Do not plagiarize or share copyrighted materials without permission.
6. Health and Safety Disclaimers
Discussions about conure health and care should not replace veterinary advice.
For urgent health concerns, seek an avian veterinarian immediately.
7. No Graphic or Disturbing Content
Avoid posting graphic images of injuries, illnesses, or deceased birds unless posted in a designated educational context with appropriate content warnings.
8. Protect Member Privacy
Do not share personal information about other members without their consent.
Respect everyone’s privacy, both human and avian.
9. Be Inclusive
The community is for all conure enthusiasts, regardless of experience level. Beginners are welcome!
Offer support and guidance without judgment.
10. Monitor Breeding Discussions
Breeding-related posts must be educational and ethical. Promoting unsafe, inexperienced, or unethical breeding practices is not permitted.
Share responsible breeding practices that prioritize the health of both parents and chicks.
11. Use Clear and Informative Titles
When posting, use descriptive titles to help others find and respond to your content (e.g., "Tips for a Picky Green Cheek Eater" or "Advice Needed: First Time Egg Laying").
12. No Duplicate or Irrelevant Posts
Avoid posting the same topic multiple times.
Irrelevant posts may be removed or moved to the appropriate section.
13. Engage Respectfully with Moderators
Follow instructions from moderators and respect their decisions.
If you disagree with a decision, discuss it privately with the moderators rather than publicly challenging them.
14. Report Issues Promptly
Report posts or comments that violate these rules to moderators. Avoid engaging with problematic content.
15. Encourage Fun and Learning
Share photos, videos, and stories of your conures to celebrate their uniqueness!
Participate in challenges, contests, or discussions to help foster a sense of community.
16. Rule Updates and Clarifications
Rules may be updated to adapt to the community’s needs. Members will be notified of any changes.
